Hooya Kopitiam is born from the journey of an Australian chef who spent twenty years mastering the art of Malaysian cooking. What began as a single plate of char kway teow in Penang turned into a lifelong pursuit. Apprenticing under hawker masters, learning the patience behind a good rendang, and perfecting the pour of a proper kopi.
He carried this passion through kitchens across Australia, refining his craft and drawing inspiration from cuisines around the world before bringing it all home to create Hooya Kopitiam.
Here, traditional Malaysian recipes meet twenty years of global culinary experience. Every curry, noodle dish and dessert is made fresh daily, staying true to the authentic flavours of the kopitiam while honouring the journey that shaped them.
